Primum Mobile, or, The causes of celestial motion : the counterpart of celestial gravitation / by Nescio. [1820]

An early 19th century treatise on Newtonian cosmology, which refutes Newton's conclusions about the necessity of the Primum Mobile, using the latest scientific discoveries of the time to do so. The text is written in a small and careful hand with several diagrams and tables included throughout, and the author makes clear that he is sensible of the audacity in finding deficiencies with Newton. The author cites sources such as Brinkley, Laplace, and Franklin, among others.
